🚨 Some Personal News 🚨
I’m thrilled to FINALLY lift the suspense 👀 and share more about my next move
Beyond pumped to share that I'm joining @Netlify as “Head of Community” to continue my life's work: empowering MORE builders and developers to push MORE ideas to the world 🌎
Pinch me because.. this is a dream role (you’ll see why in the story below)
It's an incredible honor as I will get to work with @biilmann and the Netlify team who serve a community of 9m+ developers today and are gearing up to welcome millions more in the coming years
Here's the story of how al of this came about ⤵️
I was happy at Paddle but since early this year.. I have been pulled into the AI + vibe coding wave
At first, it was a subtle curiosity. Then it became magnetic.
As someone who built 20+ no-code projects in 2020-22 era, I had to understand what was happening.
I started tinkering with Replit, Bolt, Cursor, Lovable etc and shipped small web tools in just a couple of days.
Ex: File Forge, Remedy Hunt (see screenshots)
The moment I shipped these, something clicked. This wasn't just a new tool or trend. This was the future unfolding in real-time.
It became crystal clear: we're about to witness a Cambrian explosion of software creation. Both for business and personal use cases.
Apps and tools that would've taken teams months to build are now being shipped on weekends. Not just professional developers.. ALL kind of professionals are going to build tools in the next decade. Thanks to AI agents.
A part of me decided I needed to be closer to this revolution/movement.
And then quite accidentally made this "famous" tweet that sprung me into the center of it.
Thanks to Bolt's quick action and support of many partners, the world's largest hackathon came to life all in public.
The response was unbelievable:
$1m+ in prizes 130k+ participants 200 global meetups hosted 1m+ AI projects initiated
In the midst of all of this, I traveled to SF and met with a bunch of founders in the AI space
Including @biilmann who I've admired for a while
Matt is a legend, he coined "Jamstack" a decade ago yet was super humble and talked all about the future of software with AI-assisted coding. The opportunities to serve millions of builders.
When he laid out the foundation for what he was calling "Agent Experience" or more colloquially, just "AX", I had to pause.
I've heard of UX, DX but wow now AX. Yet it seemed inevitable.
Matt's vision was magnetic. I was captivated.
But we didn't have any plans to work together.
A few months later, Netlify published an iconic blog post that spoke directly to my soul.
Let me share some of it with you. The blog post ended with this:
"For those who already call themselves web developers, this is your chance at rebirth. Evolve into designers of systems, products, and experience—or risk irrelevance.
For those who were never allowed in: this is your invitation. You are now a developer."
It felt like a bat signal to me .. an inspiring call to action
It reads like a Nike campaign from the 90s. I was fired up!
I emailed Matt a couple weeks later expressing my interest to find a way to join the mission
As luck would have it, they were looking for someone to come lead the community. I applied instantly.
Netlify HQ is based in SF so I will be closer to the tech epicenter and the AI wave (although my day to day will be remote)
Through the interviews, I got to meet other amazing people at Netlify like Michelle, Sean and Dana.
Our conversations brought us together and gave me conviction that I could continue my life's best work. To create a vibrant, give-first and inclusive community of people who love shipping.
Another exciting fact is I'm coming in at an INFLECTION point for Netlify
More than 9 million developers Huge AI focus with the launch of "Agent Runners"Clients include Figma, Stack Overflow, Riot Games Partners include Bolt, OpenAI, Anthropic, Storyblok etc. Funded by top tier investors like @a16z @BessemerVP @kleinerperkins
A decade of hard work.. compounding like crazy leading to a new era for Netlify
Here's my not-so-secret growth recipe:
To win market share, you've got to win mind (and heart) share first.
That's community-led growth.
I'm bringing the "build in public" and "build with community" ethos that's been core to everything I've done.
What I'm most excited about in this role:
Building programs that serve the community's growth. Will be a blend of some or all of these -> hackathons, AMAs, Demo Days, meetups. livestreams featuring inspiring builds.
Amplifying customer stories. Building an ambassador network. Strategic partnerships.
The possibilities are endless.
My immediate goal:
Immerse myself completely in the Netlify ecosystem.
Learn from users. Understand your challenges. Amplify your wins. Build programs that serve your growth.
