Abraham Maslow, a terrific psychologist in 1943 published a path breaking paper called “A human theory of Motivation” in which he proposes something quite opposite to what we believe in.

It’s not the thirst, sexual desire or the temporal hunger that you should consider a basic need, but it is the creativity and morality at the top. 

Everything else is secondary.
