The Purple Cow

The means can never be the end.

Once you get into your proper adult life, you will realize that for most of the goals in life, money is important.

If you want to become an astronaut, you need to go to an expensive university. If you want to start a school in Kenya, you need to have a few thousand dollars. If you want to become a sci-fi film maker, you need to have a few rich producer connections.

Yes, money is often the cloud you are chasing. But the cloud should lead to a rainbow, and that’s more important. As long as you chase money for a valid, meaningful purpose, it is justified. Else, you are wasting away your valuable time being yet another example of  Mr.RichManPoorLife.

Start a business, a non-profit, a school, fight an election or perform a dare-devil stunt. But don’t attach your success and life-worth to money. It will surely fade away and the world around you will be senseless as hell.

Ultimately, it boils down to doing what makes it thrilling to get up in the morning and gratifying to go to sleep at night. The answer is definitely not money. Isn’t it obvious, you may think. But sometimes you need a reminder and this blog is exactly that.
