Pope of Hope.
One of my favorite entrepreneurs, Henry Ford once said,
Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.
Enthusiasm has a twin. Hope.
What you see in most successful entrepreneurs is that they are never pessimistic. They could be realistic, and data-driven but they won’t let the explosion of information all around diminish the inner hopes on their vision.
Henry Ford always hoped Ford to be No.1.
Steve Jobs always hoped Apple to be No.1.
David Ogilvy always hoped O&M to be No.1.
Their enthusiasm is as evident as their hope. It’s evident in every single detail of their products. The wall street, the anaylizers, the critics, the board-members, they all could say anything.
But these gentlemen always swam against the flow. Not with the flow.
Each of them were truly a pope of hope. Let’s be too.
