Great designers don't design things.
The great designer Philippe Starck once had a strange request from one of his troubled billionaire friends.
The wealthy man asked Philippe to design a heater.
Instead of asking what kind of heater, and how much can he pay for that, Philippe asked, “Are you sure you need a heater?”
The rich man looked baffled as Philippe went close to him and hugged him for 5 min. People around them were speechless.
Five minutes later, the billionaire said, “You are right Philippe, perhaps I didn’t need a heater, I needed warmth.”
And paid a fat check for opening his eyes. (mind)
Great designers: They don’t just design things, they solve problems.
