Give directions and Get out.
In any business setting, or a classroom environment, one of the main reasons why people will hate their superiors is because they give too many orders.
Being bossy isn’t about dictating terms.
It’s about giving a challenge. And giving them hope that they can perform.
If you recollect some of your best teachers or bosses, it’s hard to find anyone who would have been too nitpicking on you. Too much spoon-feeding helps neither the teacher nor the student.
Instead, give people a new dimension in thinking. A new perspective. A new personality.
Rules have never inspired anyone to perform better, but reasons can. Tell them why that specific task is important and incredible. Don’t fret the details too much. Leave it onto their creativity and imagination.
When someone asks you, give them directions and get out. Let them make their own way.
