Collecting the dots is easy...
but what’s not is connecting the dots.
And unfortunately schools can’t teach you that.
Education has grown enormously in terms of the volume of information but not in terms of the value of the information.
You probably read 200 text books and give a 1000 tests before you get out of school. But the real question is about how you can make a meaningful connection from those and apply elsewhere.
School should teach you discipline. Not obedience. Insight not information.
We have enough technology that can teach you how to make a robot or jump from space.
We don’t need people who are trained to understand what’s happening.
We need people who are gutsy enough to question why it’s happening.
Seth had a point to make here.
